Each node listens for traffic and repeats it to its neighbours, so messages hop across the UAE even when individual radios are out of direct range.
LoRa (Long Range) radios are ideal for this job because they trade bandwidth for incredible reach and efficiency. A small battery-powered node can push packets kilometres across desert terrain or between city towers when antennas have a good line of sight.
Meshtasticยฎ lets you turn inexpensive LoRa radios into a long-range off-grid communication platform wherever reliable infrastructure is unavailable. The project is open source and entirely community driven.
We use the EU Long Range (EU_868) preset across the UAE mesh. This ensures all community nodes can communicate with each other reliably.
